Double bill of film fantasies. 'Stardust' (2007) is an adventure
based on the bestselling graphic novel by Neil Gaiman and Charles
Vess. When a young man, Tristan (Charlie Cox), tries to win the
heart of his beautiful but cold object of his desire Victoria
(Sienna Miller) by going on a quest to retrieve a fallen star, his
journey takes him to a mysterious and forbidden land beyond the
walls of his village. On his odyssey, Tristan finds the star, which
has transformed into a striking girl called Yvaine (Claire Danes).
However, Tristan is not the only one seeking the star. A king
(Peter O'Toole)'s four sons - not to mention the ghosts of their
three dead brothers - all need the star as they vie for the throne.
Tristan must also overcome the evil witch, Lamia (Michelle
Pfeiffer), who needs the star to make her young again. As Tristan
battles to survive these threats, encountering a pirate named
Captain Shakespeare (Robert De Niro) and a shady trader named Ferdy
the Fence (Ricky Gervais) along the way, his quest changes. He must
now win the heart of the star for himself as he discovers the
meaning of true love. Neil Jordan directs the Irish drama 'Ondine'
(2009). Syracuse (Colin Farrell) is a poor fisherman whose life is
changed forever when he fishes a beautiful live woman (Alicja
Bachleda) out of the sea. His young daughter, Annie (Alison Barry),
is convinced that the mysterious beauty must be a mermaid. Theories
abound about the girl's origins as she transforms the lives of
Syracuse, Annie and the local townsfolk. Stephen Rea and Dervla
Kirwan co-star.
Light-hearted rom-com starring Michelle Pfeiffer as a divorcee who
falls for a younger man, just as her daughter is experiencing love
for the first time. After years devoting herself to her career,
Rosie (Pfeiffer) has finally met Adam (Paul Rudd), someone who
ticks all her boxes - tall, dark, handsome... and young? At the
same time, Rosie's teenager daughter Izzie (Saoirse Ronan), is
beginning to feel something stirring everytime she runs into one of
the local boys - could it be love? Things get even more complicated
when Mother Nature (Tracey Ullman) appears on the scene, dispensing
her mischief to one and all.

Sequel to Tim Burton's hugely successful 'Batman' (1989). Oswald
Cobblepot was abandoned by his parents as a baby. Thirty three
years later, bent on revenge, he returns to Gotham City as the
Penguin (Danny DeVito). First he begins a warped campaign to become
Mayor, helped by millionaire businessman Max Shreck (Christopher
Walken); next, he undertakes a mission to murder every first born
son in Gotham - a plan which will avenge his own beginnings.
Meanwhile, he has two adversaries to contend with: Catwoman
(Michelle Pfeiffer), the embittered ex-secretary of Max Shreck,
and, of course, the old caped crusader himself - Batman (Michael
Keaton).
Box set containing four films from the popular 'Batman' film
series. 'Batman' (1989) was the first big screen outing for Bob
Kane's caped crusader. The streets of Gotham City are no longer
safe for criminals, who are being picked off by a masked vigilante
in a rubber suit - dubbed 'Batman' by the press. Reporter Alexander
Knox (Robert Wuhl) teams with photographer Vicki Vale (Kim
Basinger) in an attempt to discover Batman's true identity - an
investigation which leads them to the door of mysterious
millioniare Bruce Wayne (Michael Keaton). Meanwhile, crime boss
Carl Grissom's (Jack Palance) attempt to rid himself of
untrustworthy henchman Jack Napier (Jack Nicholson) does not go
according to plan, and after emerging physically - and mentally -
disfigured from a vat of chemicals, Napier reinvents himself as the
psychotic Joker. In 'Batman Returns' (1992), Oswald Cobblepot was
abandoned by his parents as a baby. Thirty three years later, bent
on revenge, he returns to Gotham City as the Penguin (Danny
DeVito). First he begins a warped campaign to become Mayor, helped
by millionaire businessman Max Shreck (Christopher Walken); next,
he undertakes a mission to murder every first born son in Gotham -
a plan which will avenge his own beginnings. Meanwhile, he has two
adversaries to contend with: Catwoman (Michelle Pfeiffer), the
embittered ex-secretary of Max Shreck, and, of course, the old
caped crusader himself (Keaton). In 'Batman Forever' (1995), former
District Attorney Harvey Two-Face (Tommy Lee Jones) is terrorising
Gotham City, when a new villain appears on the scene - the Riddler
(Jim Carrey). Together they plot to discover Batman's (Val Kilmer)
identity, using a device which can probe the human mind. Meanwhile,
the caped crusader has been joined by Robin (Chris O'Donnell),
whose trapeze-artist family have recently been slain by Two-Face.
'Finally, in 'Batman and Robin' (1997), Batman (George Clooney) and
Robin (O'Donnell) have to stop the vengeful Mr Freeze (Arnold
Schwarzenegger) from taking over Gotham City by using his new ice
weapon. To make matters worse, the venomous Poison Ivy (Uma
Thurman) decides to join forces with Freeze, so making an almost
undefeatable double-whammy of a team. Luckily for the caped
crusader and his rebellious ward, they can team up with a new tough
and courageous new partner - Batgirl (Alicia Silverstone).
Collection of four films starring Johnny Depp. In 'The Astronaut's
Wife' (1999), on a seemingly routine mission to repair a space
satellite, astronaut Spencer Armacost (Depp) loses contact with
Mission Control for a period of time. Once Spencer has returned to
Earth his wife Jillian (Charlize Theron) falls pregnant with twin
boys, but her joy is tempered by the suspicion that something
terrible happened to her husband in space - something which could
threaten the entire human race. In 'Dark Shadows' (2012), when
playboy Barnabas Collins (Depp) breaks the heart of the beautiful
Angelique Brouchard (Eva Green), an old family curse is released as
Angelique, a witch, turns Barnabas into a vampire before burying
him alive. Two centuries later, Barnabas is inadvertently freed and
emerges into the very changed world of 1972. Returning to his
former home at Collinwood Manor, he finds his estate in ruins and
the dysfunctional dregs of his family in tatters. Matriarch
Elizabeth Collins Stoddard (Michelle Pfeiffer) has enlisted the
services of live-in psychiatrist Dr Julia Hoffman (Helena Bonham
Carter) to help with her numerous family problems - but between
Elizabeth's loser brother, Roger Collins (Jonny Lee Miller), her
rebellious teenage daughter, Carolyn Stoddard (Chloë Moretz), and
Roger's precocious 10-year-old son, David Collins (Gulliver
McGrath), Dr Hoffman has certainly got her work cut out. 'Sweeney
Todd - The Demon Barber of Fleet Street' (2007), Tim Burton's film
version of the Stephen Sondheim musical, is based on a 'penny
dreadful' tale (which later became an urban myth) from the mid-19th
Century. The story centres around Benjamin Barker (Depp), a barber
who returns to London after spending years in exile for a crime he
didn't commit. He soon discovers from pie-maker Mrs Lovett (Bonham
Carter) that, in his absence, his wife has taken her own life and
his daughter is now in the care of the man who had him sent away -
the dastardly Judge Turpin (Alan Rickman). Seeking revenge and
filled with a murderous rage, Barker sets up a barber's shop above
Mrs Lovett's premises. Now calling himself Sweeney Todd, Barker
kills off all his customers with a razor to the throat and sends
their cadavers to the shop below to be used as a tasty new filling
for Mrs Lovett's meat pies. What was once the worst pie shop in
London quickly becomes one of the city's most popular eateries, but
Barker won't be satisfied until he can lure Judge Turpin into the
barber's chair... In 'Don Juan DeMarco' (1994) Marlon Brando plays
a psychiatrist whose last case, that of Don Juan (Depp), is his
most difficult. Don Juan is the world's greatest lover, having
seduced over 1000 women, and his amorous tales totally captivate
the analyst, re-awakening passions which he thought had been lost
forever.
